The 36-credit program offers two concentration options: general MPA or MPA with a Health Administration concentration. Core curriculum covers values and ethics in public administration, organizational theory and management, program planning and evaluation, finance and budgeting, research methods, political and policy analysis, human resource management, and marketing and public relations. The program includes an integrated research project completed throughout the coursework rather than a single final-semester thesis. This approach allows more thorough application of theory and research, helping you become a capable and confident leader prepared to make a meaningful impact as a public leader or healthcare administrator.
What is the difference between the general MPA and MPA Health Administration concentrations at Hilbert College Global?
Hilbert College Global offers two specialized MPA tracks to align with your career objectives. The MPA Health Administration concentration combines the core MPA curriculum with a specialized focus on healthcare systems, policy, and management through courses in Health Care Management, Health Care Law and Ethics, and Culture of Healthcare. This concentration prepares graduates for leadership roles in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, health departments, insurance organizations, and healthcare administration. Both tracks follow the same accelerated 16-month format and include the integrated research project component.
How long does it take to complete Hilbert College Global’s online MPA program?
Hilbert College Global’s online Master of Public Administration can be completed in as few as 16 months using an accelerated cohort format. The 36-credit program follows an established course sequence. Graduate students may take one course at a time to focus on each topic and maintain flexibility, or take two courses per term to move through the program more quickly. Each short term is eight weeks in length. The cohort model allows you to move through the program with the same group of students, creating opportunities to meet new colleagues and build lifelong friendships while collaborating on group projects and discussing policy matters related to public administration.
Does Hilbert College Global’s MPA program require GRE or GMAT scores?
No, Hilbert College Global does not require GRE or MAT scores for admission to the Master of Public Administration program, though you may submit your scores if you completed them for extra consideration. The college uses a holistic admissions process that values the whole student rather than relying solely on standardized test scores. While there is no strict GPA requirement, students with a GPA lower than 3.0 are encouraged to submit two academic letters of recommendation. This flexible approach makes the MPA program more accessible to experienced professionals seeking career advancement in public service, nonprofit management, or healthcare administration without the barrier of standardized testing.
