Based on competencies outlined by the NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS), our associate degree will introduce you to the field of substance abuse assistance. The program partially fulfills the Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) requirements and prepares graduates to obtain that credential through OASAS. In this program, you’ll develop an understanding of:
- Substance use disorder development
- How psychoactive substances impact the individual
- Effective prevention and recovery strategies
- Trauma-informed approaches to substance use treatment
- How substance use impacts families and special populations
- The role of mental health disorders in the substance use cycle
Our Associate of Applied Science in Business Administration degree will give you an entry-level understanding of key business strategies and protocols. During your studies, you’ll build a management skills portfolio that demonstrates your newfound strategies and tactics to help you impress potential employers. The curriculum will help you develop an understanding of:
